This is a great choice if you are visiting the Capitol building or complex. It is a short 10-15 minute walk and a great alternative to finding parking. The rooms vary but we loved each we stayed in on our two visits. We will be back.
The Morgan State House Inn is charming! The house has the most beautiful woodwork throughout. We stayed only one night and had to leave early in the morning, but the people working were very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area!
The staff (Chuck, Ginny, Amanda) made stay at Morgan State House Inn memorable. This gilded age mansion is beautiful as it is historic. It’s so nice to have coffee or breakfast at the back garden. The room at the #399 property, a few door down from the main inn at #393, was charming but could use some updating of the bathroom fixtures and the carpet. Location-wise, it borders a park and is walking distance to the restaurants on Lark Street. But if your main reason in Albany involves the Capitol or surrounding businesses, there are more convenient places to stay,
Elegant home that has become a wonderful hotel for anyone lucky enough to stay there. Full of charm. Spotless clean, staff helpful what's not to like. If your in Albany this is where you deserve to stay. Treat yourself. Look it up.
Very comfortable stay. We were in #399, 8th floor unit; the main Madison is #393. Our place was thoughtfully appointed, e.g. two bag racks, in 1922 building .The beautiful main building has a lovely common area and back garden to enjoy coffee and breakfast. Location is fantastic, walkable to tons of restaurants and bars. Kind, attentive proprietors. Only minor problem was mosquitoes in room despite shut windows.
A great refuge in Downton Albany. Comfortable beds. I had a large room with kitchen and living area. It was quiet, warm and cozy. Friendly staff. A great alternative to a hotel. Would be great for a long term stay. Lots of details like power strips everywhere, robes, and other amenities. They accommodated a few special needs and Were friendly and attentive. A great place to land as a weary traveller.
I stayed in Albany for a NY state government related event and was happy to find the Morgan State House Inn. Gorgeous old townhouse charm on a great park, near a fun section of bars and coffee shops. I will stay at Morgan State House Inn every single time I go to Albany. The rooms were clean and charming, and the service was helpful. Great decision!
Stayed here in May 2024. The inside is beautiful yet homely. The owners and staff were brilliant, super friendly and helpful. All the things to see in Albany are a short walk away. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty on offer to suit all tastes. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Stay here you will not be disappointed.
